comp.theory.info-retrieval.  The reason?  It has nothing to do with the 
theory of information retrieval.

You might want to try some of the alt.* groups for people to visit your 
web site and participate in your project.  (Perhaps those newsgroups that 
are only used for chatting anyway.)
