IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RECENT MESSAGE
***************************************************
You have sent a request to announce@cs.ucdavis.edu. This is the
submissions address for comp.sys.amiga.announce. You may have
done this by sending normal e-mail, or you may have attempted to
post to the group.
Your message did not get sent to any moderator and it will not
appear on Usenet.
Mail sent to this address is now handled by an automated server
program to speed up processing by the moderators of the group.
Unfortunately, your message did not fit the format understood by
the server program. Therefore, this server is returning your
message and a help file. Nobody else will see your message.
If you are planning to submit an announcement to
comp.sys.amiga.announce, make sure that you read ALL of the
administrative documents. Do NOT simply emulate the style of a
previous announcement you saw on the newsgroup. Do NOT just skip
through the documents. Read them carefully. If you do not read
all of the documents, a moderator will reject your announcement
and you will have to write it over again, so you won't save any
time.
If you are not announcing software, you do not need to read
"Guidelines for Software Announcements."
If you are having difficulty getting this server to accept your
announcement, please read the file "Instructions for Submissions".
Reading the help file below will not explain how to submit
announcements.
You can find the documents in the newsgroup or you can request this
server to send them to you.

HELP FILE
***************************************************
** AMIGA ANNOUNCEMENTS MAIL SERVER HELP FILE **
Welcome to the Amiga Announcements mail server. This server
allows you to submit announcements to the Usenet newsgroup
comp.sys.amiga.announce. It will also automatically mail back
the administrative documents for that group if you request them.
Send for the "introduction" file to learn more about
comp.sys.amiga.announce. This server also provides a couple of
files from Aminet.
If you wish to put an announcement on comp.sys.amiga.announce,
make sure you read the appropriate administrative documents.
They explain how to send announcements to this server so they can
be posted on Usenet.
COMMANDS
To use the server, send mail to announce@cs.ucdavis.edu containing
command lines in the body of the mail message. Most commands will
result in a file being mailed back to you.
Here are _some_ of the commands you may use:
help -- This help file
introduction -- Introduction to comp.sys.amiga.announce
instructions -- "Instructions for Submissions"
Instructions on how to write and send in
announcements to comp.sys.amiga.announce.
You MUST read this file to submit announcements
or revisions to the newsgroup.

Including FTP Uploads."

if you plan to announce software.

generator program running this service.
Each command must be on a line by itself. You may have more than one
command per mail request (with each command on a separate line).
The first line of your message that is not a valid command line will
cause the server to stop and ignore all further commands.
MAILING LIST
The newsgroup is echoed to a mailing list, so you can get the entire
contents of the newsgroup sent to you through electronic mail. This
is NOT the server to handle mailing list requests. If you want to
find out about the mailing list, send mail to
announce-request@cs.ucdavis.edu. Put the word "help" in the body of
the message.
THE SERVER
This server is programmed and managed by Dan Zerkle. It is still very
experimental and may still have serious bugs! If you have any questions,
problems, or suggestions concerning the server, please contact Dan
immediately. His address is zerkle@cs.ucdavis.edu.
